Academic Writing and Research Reflection
The course has been essential in enhancing my writing and critical thinking abilities. Through the writing experience, I have gained skills such as abilities to analyze information, communicate how and what I understand, critically evaluate materials. I have also learned how to evaluate other people’s ideas and form an individual understanding of the text. This ensures that we analyze what we read and pick the important concepts to apply in certain situations. Academic writing is an essential aspect for people with a medicine-related career. As a professional, it is important to reflect on experiences and write analyze situations critically. Through writing, critical thinking abilities are enhanced, which are essential for understanding and evaluating situations while working as a professional. It will also make me a stronger professional because it helps in being objective about situations and adhere to standards established rather than personal opinions or wishes. When reflecting on certain issues within the medical field, I will focus on the problem and propose evidence-based interventions to alleviate the burden within a community or organization (Scharager & Smith, 2016).
