- You are asked to choose one question from any of the blocks and respond to it through your essay. The essay questions are intentionally open-ended, and should be treated as prompts for you to develop your own specific questions in relation to any of the topics or themes that have emerged through the module.
- · The essay should be 3000 words in length and use at least 8 illustrations. Credit will be given for use of your own drawings, diagrams or photographs and for clear integration and captioning in the text.
- · The text should be carefully structured and written in a way that clearly sets out your question and approach. The essay should show the development of your narrative and argument. - · The essay should cite at least 8-10 academic books and articles, but a wider range of sources are encouraged and we will support the exploration of less well-known examples where information may not be so readily available.
- · It is recommended that the MHRA 4th ed. style is used for footnotes and bibliography entries (refer to Canvas for a guide to MHRA referencing), however the Cite Them Right Harvard style is also suitable. You should include at the end a bibliography of all the sources consulted (not just those directly cited in the text).
