Many states now allow child victims to testify via closed circuit television instead of going, in person, to court. Proponents of this policy argue that allowing the victim to stay out of the courtroom reduces the risk of “re-victimization,” whereby the victim is traumatized again by having to see the person they are accusing of hurting them.
