In Figure P you see two successive liquid separation columns

In Figure P you see two successive liquid separation columns operating in tandem in the steady state (and with no reaction taking place). The compositions of the feed and products are as shown in the figure. The amount of W2 is 20% of the feed. Focus only on the material balances. Write down the names of the material balances for each column treated as separate units (one set for each column), along with the balances themselves placed next to the names of the balances. Also, place an asterisk in front of the names of the balances that will constitute a set of independent equations for each column. Write down in symbols the unknowns for each column. Calculate the degrees of freedom for each column separately Then determine the number of independent equations for the overall system composed of the two columns together by listing the duplicate variables (by symbols) and unused specifications as well as the redundant equations, and appropriately adding or subtracting them from the values found in the preceding paragraph. Determine the degrees of freedom for the overall system. Check the results obtained in the second paragraph by repeating the entire analysis of independent equations, unknowns, and degrees of freedom for the overall system. Do they agree? They should. Do not solve any of the equations in this problem.
