In a study examining the effect of food coloring on human behavior, experimenters randomly assigned 10 children to two groups. One group was given fruits and vegetables to eat for lunch, and the other group was given color coated candies and cookies. They tested the children by getting them to do a drawing and a puzzle before and after lunch. The children with the color free food had very little change in their performance while those in the colored food group there was a marked decrease in competency. Researchers concluded that food coloring decreased decreases human competency.
