Find whether the population of sampled trees has

Find whether the population of sampled trees has statistically significant differences between sunand shade leaves. Use WHOLE CLASS DATA to answer in this part of the exercise.

1) Calculate the standard deviation (by Excel or by hand) for the number of stomata in a field of view for sun and shade leaves. Use the Average from each of the groups (you will have 5values)–WHY NOT USE15 values?–hint think about pseudoreplication)

2)Use the empirical rule to test for a difference between the shade and sun leaves using the whole class data.

3)Use t-test to test for a difference between the sun and shade leaves for the class data–Again, use the average numbers (5values).

Describe and justify your conclusions based on the data

–Are there significant differences between the sun and shade leaves–

a) in your own tree?
