Accountants do not typically understand marketing very well. This makes sense because accounting is based on rules whereas marketing involves a lot of creativity. Both functions are essential to an organization despite their differences. You would want a creative person in your Marketing Department but NOT in your Accounting Department. One of my mottos is: “Accounting and Creativity do not mix.”
