Form groups of three to six students. Obtain the 2007 Acute Care Hospital Report (pdf) from the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) website (www.oha.com). This Hospital Report has many pages of tables showing indicator (measure) values for hospitals in Ontario. By quadrant (balanced scorecard perspective), the numbers of indicators are: System Integration and Change = 10; Patient Satisfaction = 4; Clinical Utilization and Outcomes = 7; and Financial Performance and Condition = 8. For all these 29 indicators, compare the provincial averages for teaching hospitals to the averages for small hospitals. Prepare a table presenting all the indicator averages in pairs of teaching and small hospitals. Write a report to accompany this table suggesting possible causes of any differences in indicator averages that you observe and which category of the hospital may have performed better. Define any indicators whose names are not self-explanatory.
